Minimum Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area and five (5) years of appropriate experience including at least one (1) year of experience working within a community-based organization.

Special Conditions

This is a grant-funded position. This appointment is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds and may be terminated at any time without cause or prior written notice. There is no expectation of continued employment beyond the expiration date of the grant. This appointment is made subject to the laws of the State of Tennessee and the policies and requirements of the University of Memphis.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

May need to work beyond normal schedule including nights and weekends.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • Strong knowledge of digital media platforms, content creation, and audience engagement best practices (social media, email marketing, SEO, analytics).
  • Knowledge of event promotion, fundraising communications, and donor relations strategies within a nonprofit or educational context.
  • Skilled in photography, videography, and basic graphic design for promotional and storytelling purposes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, media partners, schools, and community stakeholders.
  • Understanding of community engagement and youth development principles to align messaging with organizational mission and values.
