Under general direction of the Field Surveillance Unit (FSU) III Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor), the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer is responsible for independently performing engineering work related to pipelines and facilities operation, maintenance, and decommissioning within the Southern District Office of California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM, the Division). The incumbent will serve as the district’s pipeline compliance auditor for the oil and gas production facilities. This position performs assignments that require a high degree of knowledge and skill in pipeline and facilities inspection/testing and facilities/production engineering. The incumbent is expected work in close coordination with staff members working under various units within the Southern District’s Environmental, Facilities, and Field Surveillance Group (EFFSG). As business needs arise, the incumbent is expected to regularly go out to the field to oversee field surveillance and inspection operations and to provide training to field staff.

At least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position. Alternative work locations will not be considered.
