Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician with a passion for mechanical systems and a desire to contribute to a dynamic team. Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain pumps and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and design mechanical systems.
  • Update, repair, and replace plant lighting systems.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems ranging from 120 volts to 4160 high voltage.
  • Disassemble and reassemble pumps and other mechanical equipment.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and maps.
  • Operate various equipment safely and efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • At least two years of pump repair experience.
  • Experience in a Wastewater, Water, or Industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of conduit bending and installation.
  • Familiarity with electric motor/wiring Megger testing.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFP 70E.
  • Knowledge of boiler maintenance and operations.
  • Experience with HVAC principles.
  • Competence in handling centrifuges and chemical metering equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS automated systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with HVAC and Boiler systems.
  • Ability to design and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Skills in mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD for mechanical engineering tasks.

Work Environment

The position is onsite at a wastewater facility, operating Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This environment provides ample opportunities for professional growth, including collaboration with large teams, and offers yearly raises.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $36.06/hr.
