Under the direction of the Assistant Manager Banquet, the Banquet Server is responsible for providing impeccable food and beverage service, as well as properly setting up banquet rooms, in accordance with the Banquet Event Order and Best-In-Class Service Standards. Responsibilities include delivering polished and attentive food and beverage service, ensuring guest satisfaction at every touchpoint. This role involves the precise setup and breakdown of banquet spaces in strict accordance with the event specifications, including catering, service stations, and equipment. The Banquet Server must consistently demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to excellence while thriving in a fast-paced, elevated guest-focused environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that all catering functions are 100% complete in accordance with Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications, a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of the event or at the direction of the on-site contact. Courteously and efficiently tends to food and beverage requests from guests and notifies management if special approvals ae necessary.

2. Be able to communicate efficiently with on-site contact and go over the Banquet Event order (BEO) for accuracy on times and assists with special projects as directed by Supervisor including, special events, concerts, and VIP guests. If any additional items may be needed. Always follow instructions from management, and if instructions are not clear, servers must connect with onsite leadership.

3. Responsible for documenting and reporting any damage or irregularities observed in equipment or vehicles, both before and after use. Upon completion of assigned event, all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned and returned to its designated storage location in an organized manner.

4. Continuously monitor and restock all essential service items—including food, beverages, plateware, silverware, and related supplies—to ensure seamless operations and uphold a best-in-class guest experience. Replenishment should be proactive, timely, and aligned with service flow to prevent shortages and maintain presentation standards throughout the event or service period.

5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six (6) months restaurant or catering experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests, addressing their needs and resolving issues.
  • Must have a warm, inviting and engaging demeanor and be comfortable in an entertainment and VIP setting.
  • Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
  • Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s).

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
  • Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

  • Primary work environment is a combination of Casino & Resort and outdoor settings.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting some of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
  • Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
