Bachelor s Degree. Two years of experience in youth development, adult education development, and/or recreational programs, to include supervisory and program evaluation experience are required. Additional experience in youth development, adult education development, and/or recreational programs, to include supervisory and program evaluation experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. The Department of Children and Families Childcare Training certification is preferred.
This position coordinates diversified events/ activities at the Community Center. Establishes the goals and objectives of a center with the aim of providing the best recreational experience to the public while conserving the natural resources and coordinating the use of recreation centers and other park facilities in conjunction with sections within and outside of the department. Creates and schedules special events designed to encourage public attendance and utilization of center. Facilitates, organizes, and supervises activities and facility utilization to satisfy community interests and needs. Prepares reports on facility operation, maintenance, and utilization. Prepares annual budget estimates and monitors expenditures and revenues monthly. Attend meetings and conducts staff meetings. Provides regular training, mentoring, and development opportunities to staff to maintain and uphold the department’s standards and core values. Aids with handling and minimizing difficult or unusual problems. Coordinates and executes safety and energy conservation programs.
