ERM is seeking a growth-minded, client-facing leader as part of the continued expansion of our Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation (LPMR) service line. We are looking for an established market leader to fulfill a Partner (Principal/Director/VP) role, fostering and expanding a network of strong client relationships in the Great Lakes North Business Unit (Midwest-specific). This position will be based in the Chicago area, with consideration given to other locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Ohio.

ROLE PROFILE:

Primary focus on client relationship development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to clients across multiple sectors. Specifically, play a key role in leading and growing ERM’s existing LPMR business across a broad portfolio of sustainable service offerings:

  • Site investigation and remediation, including “green” remediation
  • Human health and ecological risk assessments
  • Remediation portfolio and reserve assessments
  • Sediment management and remediation
  • Brownfields redevelopment
  • Decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition (DDD)
  • Remedial alternatives evaluations and pilot testing
  • Remediation engineering and construction management

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing new client relationships and expanding existing ones by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry business cycles and prioritizing sales efforts toward high-potential opportunities.
  • Managing capture efforts using technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.
  • Working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM’s global business and lead client and technical teams.
  • Meeting business financial targets, overall project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction expectations, and internal and contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, geology, science, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive environmental experience in a consulting environment, working substantially with industrial clients (e.g., diversified energy, chemical, power, manufacturing).
  • In-depth understanding of contaminated site remediation management challenges and the regulatory landscape in the targeted geography.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering multimillion-dollar sales annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Strong business acumen to understand risks and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local geography.
  • Certification in the field (PE, PG, or similar registration) desired.

Environmental liabilities, which are part of nearly every company’s asset portfolio and balance sheet, present regulatory, technical, and social complexities that heighten risk and potentially reduce asset value. Throughout a company’s asset life cycle, ERM helps clients manage these risks through strategic approaches, digital applications, and best-fit technical methods that identify, assess, and manage environmental liabilities.

  • Asset and portfolio management
  • Options analysis and exit strategy

  • Asset retirement and/or redevelopment
  • Regulatory adaptation strategies
  • Litigation support
  • Portfolio risk management for emerging issues such as new contaminants, regulatory changes, and stakeholder concerns

For the Consulting Partner, Environmental Remediation position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $170,000 – $190,000 (USD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
