In this newly created Head of Reporting role, that's exactly what you'll be empowered to do. We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring and creative leader who can help us take our ESG reporting to the next level driving even more engagement with our agenda and, most importantly, the positive impact we have on communities, customers, colleagues and the planet.
Working within our ESG Centre of Excellence, your role will report into our VP of ESG & DEI and be part of a dedicated team of like-minded individuals delivering incredible ESG work every day.
In this dynamic and strategic role, you will focus on ESG Reporting in all its aspects - including annual ESG Reporting, assurance, stakeholder engagement and management, standards alignment and communications for The Boots Group culminating in the high profile publication and launch of our annual ESG Report. Here's a look at some of the key activities you will lead:
Key responsibilities
- Annual ESG Report project lead including content development, creative process, standards alignment and assurance
- Lead cross functional and cross business co-ordination (including an extended project team of multiple SMEs, ESG, HR, finance and Comms). Also including third-party suppliers as appropriate
- Ensure key internal stakeholder engagement and communication throughout project – including senior leader sign off
- Ensure all third-party verifications, approvals and permissions in place
- Delivery of the annual ESG Report launch and communications
- Develop and execute strategy for ESG disclosures that will increase the company's environmental, social and governance (ESG) ratings and rankings.
- Support businesses within the Group with any Reporting requirements
- Strategic partner relationship management and alignment including Global Reporting Initiative, UNGC (United Nations Global Compact) and other sustainability/ESG reporting frameworks.
- Budget and creative agency management.
- Attend and represent the company at external meetings, conferences and seminars as needed.
What you'll need to have
- Experience in ESG Reporting including recommending strategic approach, overseeing the end to end delivery of and building engagement plans for key stakeholders.
- Partnership and supplier relationship management up to C-suite level.
- Cross functional team co-ordination and project leadership.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to the most senior levels within the organisation.
- Expertise in strategic thinking, long term planning and leveraging insights to drive business results.
- Extensive experience in retail, healthcare, sustainability or dynamic global corporate organisation.
- Knowledge of and passion for sustainability and ESG issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as in large teams, delivering results in a changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills - persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables and build strong relationships.
- Strong problem solving, ability to cut through complexity and provide effective solutions.
- Judgement to identify risks and opportunities.
- Leadership skills to drive projects and provide guidance on sensitive issues.
It would be great if you also have
- Working knowledge of relevant ESG Reporting standards (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD) and disclosure requirements (e.g. ISSB, CSRD)
- Experience operationalising cross-divisional initiatives for a complex international company.
- Experience working with Reporting tools such as Workiva and CtrlPrint
- Language skills (beneficial but not essential).
