Senior Compensation Specialist (3-6 Months Contract)

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Compensation Specialist for a 3-6 month contract position to focus on the management and execution of our current compensation plans. This role will provide critical support for compensation-related activities during our annual budget planning, performance, and compensation cycles. While design and strategy elements will not be a primary focus, the ideal candidate will ensure our programs remain competitive, equitable, legally compliant, and aligned with our business strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of compensation principles, market trends, and global compensation practices, as well as the ability to influence and partner with leadership. The Senior Compensation Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting our global organization. This role will work with leadership at various levels, and will oversee a Sr. Compensation Analyst currently on the team.

As part of this dynamic HR team, you’ll partner regularly with Executive Business Leaders, Finance Leaders, IT, and Sales Operations.

SKILL SET / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in compensation.
    • Proven experience in managing and executing compensation programs in a multi-national company and experience with India programs is strongly preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Hay, Mercer), and market pricing.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle) and compensation management software.
    • Experience with global sales compensation is a plus.
    • Background in a private SaaS company environment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • High degree of integrity and business acumen.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Management: Oversee the administration and execution of all compensation programs, including base pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure our compensation programs remain externally competitive and internally equitable.
  • Global Governance: Support the maintenance of global compensation policies, guidelines, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance with local regulations.
  • Consultation & Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to HR business partners, talent acquisition, and senior leaders on all compensation-related matters, including job evaluation, salary offers, and compensation structure.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Utilize data analytics to monitor compensation trends, model the impact of compensation decisions, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all compensation programs comply with relevant federal, state, and international laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Develop and deliver effective communication and training materials to educate employees and managers on our compensation philosophy and programs.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Engage with the global HR team and the business leadership team to support year-end, budget cycle, performance management and comp cycle activities.
  • Review workforce analytics and understand value for data driven decisions
  • Understand the Xactly’s compensation philosophy and pay structures to effectively partner with leaders on compensation decisions and strategies for their current teams and candidates.
  • Begin creating vision for next 6-12 months Objectives and Key Results for the function
  • Provide leadership for execution on annual OKRs
  • Continue collaboration and communication regarding performance culture and recognition culture initiatives
  • Expand partnerships with the business leaders

The compensation range is specific to the posted job location and role and takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, performance, and market and peer comparisons. Salary ranges allow for growth opportunities as the employee develops new skills and/or hones current skills.

Range estimate is $72 to $88 per hour.
