Job Responsibilities

• Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks)
• Planning and managing routine patient care at acute facilities
• Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans
• Evaluating the condition and needs of patients and providing timely reports to medical staff
• Taking and monitoring the vital signs of patients and ensuring timely documentation
• Providing basic medical tasks, such as medication administration, to assist the nursing team and medical staff
• Applying and changing dressings and bandages to ensure the proper healing of wounds
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment and the comfort of each patient with support for daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing
• Assisting patients with ambulation and movements to and from wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers
• Monitoring urinary and other catheters to ensure proper drainage
• Communicating with patients and family members to explain treatments and procedures
• Ensuring updated and accurate patient records and protecting the confidentiality of patient information

Qualifications and Skills

• Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for Kentucky
• 6 months of LPN practice experience
• Successful completion of all state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency exam(s)
• BLS certified by the American Heart Association
• Immunizations as required
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
