As our Digital Engineering Lead, you will help design and execute the digital strategy for Personal Risk Services (PRS) and Chubb, harnessing data, AI, and engineering best practices to accelerate business growth and deliver hyper-personalized and frictionless experiences for customers and agents. You will partner with business stakeholders and enterprise technology groups to translate strategic business goals into impactful digital solutions, ensuring every product and interaction is informed by actionable data insights, and is seamless to use in every way.

You will lead the design and delivery of innovative, customer-centric digital products across all channels—including mobile—by fostering deep collaboration between product, technology, and business teams. Your role will strategically leverage AI for automation, optimizing engineering processes and enhancing customer and agent experiences. Balancing business objectives with innovative technology strategies and the possibilities offered by leading and emerging solutions, you will ensure the digital platforms and experiences you deliver are scalable, secure, and future-ready.

By championing modern engineering practices and tools, you will enable rapid experimentation, continuous delivery, and measurable business impact. Your leadership will position Chubb at the forefront of digital insurance, driving transformation, operational excellence, and superior digital experiences for all stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure digital solutions that support strategic business goals, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and scope
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute a forward-looking digital roadmap, optimizing the current portfolio and developing next-generation solutions aligned with company vision and priorities
  • Drive agile methodologies to enhance speed, flexibility, and delivery efficiency, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks for timely product releases
  • Own the creation, management, and tracking of budgets, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and guardrails
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success of digital initiatives, including uptime, response times, customer engagement, and ROI
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and excellence; attract top talent and upskill existing staff
  • Engage with customers to lead technical discussions, gather feedback, and ensure digital products are user-friendly, secure, and meet requirements
  • Champion best practices and standards, manage technology debt, drive process improvements, and support migration to modern architectures; help prioritize competing initiatives
  • Ensure platform development, data analytics, integrations, and systems comply with FS ecosystem regulations, working closely with security teams to safeguard data, privacy, and regulatory compliance
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to drive continuous improvement; have a passion for positioning AI to improve feature delivery processes
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 7+ years in leadership roles building and managing high-performing teams in high-growth software or financial services environments
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Extensive expertise in software engineering, legacy application migration, and leading digital transformations in consumer-focused, highly regulated organizations
  • Proven ability to collaborate across complex, matrixed environments to drive strategic initiatives and achieve organizational goals
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering digital applications for B2C, B2B, and B2B2C channels (web, mobile, API, database), leveraging public cloud (Azure preferred) and modern architectures (cloud-native, serverless, microservices, event-driven, micro-frontends) within a "you build it, you run it" model
  • Deep experience architecting and developing with modern technologies such as Java, Angular, Spring Boot, Node.js, and .NET
  • Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and retaining top engineering talent, and leading large teams with a collaborative, motivating leadership style
  • Strong commitment to software engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and methodologies like Lean, Agile, and DevSecOps
  • Deep knowledge of security, compliance, and data management, especially in regulated industries
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, able to assess competitive landscapes, synthesize customer feedback, and craft differentiating strategies

The pay range for the role is $190,000 to $210,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
