Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction and operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, and site development projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Safely maneuver machinery in tight or hazardous environments.
  • Follow site plans, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, and demolition tasks.
  • Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Valid operator’s license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site layouts.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle demanding tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
