Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing physical evaluations and applying a range of treatments, to include manual massage therapy, to clients within the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent confers with clinical staff and clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful. Develops and implements massage treatment and therapy plans. Massage therapists apply manual massages to clients using oils and creams for relaxation and remedial purposes. The incumbent may perform tasks such as massaging the soft tissues of the human body, including muscles, tendons and ligaments, to assist healing. May use massage techniques to enhance relaxation, stress management and wellbeing, such as muscle stretching, to assist with recovery and to enhance muscle performance; may use finger pressure techniques in shiatsu, reflexology and other therapies. Documents therapy in accordance with protocol; implements and adheres to policies which ensure client confidentiality. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which may include directly related practicum training. Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) certification required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and able to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
