Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily operations and lead a team of 10–15 warehouse associates. Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for assigning daily workloads, ensuring productivity targets are met, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. This role also serves as a backup to the Warehouse Supervisor when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct daily activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient and safe operations across all production lines.
- Ensure all lines are properly stocked and running, providing guidance to team members as needed.
- Perform warehouse tasks such as product put-away, pulling work orders, and managing returns.
- Consolidate inventory and create additional storage space as required.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company procedures.
- Oversee proper LOT rotation and allergen control, including FEFO, FIFE, FIFO, and organic product handling.
- Report discrepancies, abnormalities, and operational issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Support food safety and quality by adhering to GMP, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and other regulatory standards.
- Promote a culture of safety by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting hazards, and participating in safety observations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience required.
- Experience in food operations preferred.
Certifications
- Material handling equipment certification (JBSS-issued or equivalent) required.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to build effective teams and execute projects.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but leads and guides a team.
- Overtime: This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
- In the event of absence, the Department Manager will assign a qualified replacement.
