Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Multiskilled Facilities Engineers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all areas in the hospital. Engineers will be required to consistently respond to work orders, emergencies and scheduled maintenance in a timely fashion. Engineers must be able to work by Hoag standards in a safe and orderly process, foster a work environment that promotes continuous improvement of engineering functions and actively functions as a team member and demonstrates commitment to quality of service.

The Multiskilled Facilities Engineer works with Life Safety systems, fire alarm, FM-200, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, security systems, and medical gas. Will also monitor cooling, heating, and ventilation areas utilizing the Hospital’s building management systems. In addition, the Multiskilled Facilities Engineer will correctly performs basic repairs to lighting systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, lighting, building trades and painting work
  • Knowledge of body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, section specific test information and instrumentation
