Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the intake process within the Guardianship Program of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Advocacy and Guardianship Department. The individual serves as the first point of contact for all newly appointed guardianship cases involving Tribal Members – both adults and minors – and for all new requests for guardianship services. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient intake process by collecting and reviewing required documentation, conducting preliminary assessments, and preparing cases for assignments to the Guardianship Advocates. The incumbent assists with initial client contact, identifying immediate needs, and coordinating referrals on behalf of the Client. The Guardianship Intake Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate intake records and supporting client onboarding in compliance with established policies and the Seminole Tribe of Florida Guardianship, Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Case Management, or related field is required. Master’s degree in human services or related field is highly preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the Child Welfare field as a social worker or case worker or prior experience within the behavioral health field including experience working with multi- diagnosed individuals (e.g. mental health disorders/substance dependence-related conditions); family systems and/or community-based treatments is required. Experience working with populations diagnosed with psychiatric, substance use, and intellectual developmental disorders is preferred. Knowledge of community support services, the ability to participate and contribute as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, is required. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community-based services is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
