ABC Plumbing, Sewer, Heating, Cooling & Electric is looking for a Permit Department Supervisor to lead one of the most critical behind-the-scenes teams in our operation: the Permit Department.

We’re looking for someone who’s highly organized, numbers-driven, and passionate about improving the customer experience. Permits aren’t just forms to you—they represent the systems, trust, and accountability that make everything else run smoothly. This role is about seeing the big picture, identifying where gaps exist, and putting processes in place that make life easier for both our team and our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of permit coordinators across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and sewer divisions.
  • Oversee permit accuracy, timeliness, and compliance from start to finish, ensuring customers experience a seamless process.
  • Track and analyze department metrics such as turnaround time, inspection closeout rates, reinspections, and compliance accuracy.
  • Identify recurring issues or delays, find the root cause, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce customer frustration.
  • Collaborate with Customer Experience, Operations, and Field teams to ensure jobs flow smoothly and communication stays clear.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor performance and report on weekly and monthly KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities across multiple states, staying on top of changing requirements.
  • Work directly in ServiceTitan and Monday.com to improve workflows, visibility, and accuracy across all jobs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership experience in permitting, operations, or compliance, ideally within home services or construction.
  • A strong understanding of how backend processes directly affect the customer experience.
  • A natural problem solver who enjoys using data to make informed decisions and measure progress.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and confident managing competing priorities.
