Position Description

The Marketing Manager, Graduate Enrollment, develops and executes targeted marketing initiatives to support Seattle University's graduate programs. This role focuses on creating compelling email communications within Slate CRM and coordinating recruitment events that attract, engage, and convert prospective students. The position collaborates with graduate program directors, graduate admissions counselors and University Marketing Communications to ensure integrated, brand-aligned strategies that advance enrollment goals.

The ideal candidate is a detail-driven communicator with strong technical skills in Slate, creativity in event execution, and a passion for engaging prospective graduate students. Success in this role will be measured by increased engagement, event participation, and ultimately, applications and enrollments in graduate programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Email Marketing in Slate (40%)

  • Design, write, build and deploy engaging email campaigns in Slate to prospective graduate students.
  • Develop compelling content that aligns with audience needs and program messaging, ensuring clear, persuasive and on-brand communication.
  • Apply segmentation, personalization, and automation strategies to improve communication effectiveness and conversion.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance; optimize subject lines, messaging, and design based on insights and best practices.
  • Partner with admissions and marketing colleagues to ensure seamless messaging and consistent tone across the prospective student journey.

Recruitment Event Support (25%)

  • Plan, promote, and execute graduate recruitment events (virtual and in-person), including information sessions, open houses, and fairs.
  • Coordinate with academic programs and enrollment staff to highlight program strengths and deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Manage event-related communications, registrations, and follow-up campaigns in Slate.
  • Monitor event participation and outcomes to inform future planning.

Collaboration & Brand Alignment (15%)

  • Work with University Marketing Communications to ensure email and event communications reflect Seattle University's brand standards, voice, and mission.
  • Support broader graduate enrollment marketing initiatives by contributing to messaging, storytelling, and campaign execution.
  • Stay current with Slate CRM features, email marketing trends, and enrollment marketing best practices.
  • Conduct thorough QA of campaigns, events, and communications prior to launch.
  • Streamline, maintain and enhance the use of Slate by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, organization and overall system effectiveness.

Marketing Project Management (20%)

  • Review, assess, and manage incoming Slate project requests to align with enrollment marketing priorities.
  • Plan and prioritize projects effectively to balance competing deadlines and resources.
  • Ensure timely delivery of marketing projects with attention to quality, accuracy, and brand standards.
  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders to provide project updates, manage expectations, and maintain alignment on goals.
  • Leverage a comprehensive view of incoming projects to identify connections across communications, events, and other initiatives, ensuring opportunities are maximized and next steps are strategically executed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in higher education or enrollment management.
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing and CRM platforms (Slate strongly preferred).
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to craft clear, persuasive communications.
  • Experience in planning and managing events.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $59,071 - $69,071

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible

This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university’s discretion.
