Summary of Performance Expectations:
Provides nutrition and diabetes education to patients and community members, in both one-on-one sessions and group classes. Assesses nutritional needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, and evaluates and reports these results appropriately.
Education & Credentials:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field. Registered Dietitian, licensed in NC or Registered Dietitian eligible. BCLS for healthcare providers or completion of BCLS from the American Heart Association within one month of employment date.
Preferred
Master of Science in Dietetics, Health Coach Certification, Certified Diabetes Educator.
Work Experience:
Required
Two years of experience. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date. Successful completion of internship may be considered in place of work experience.
Preferred
Community Health Education experience or Diabetes education experience.
