The Fleet Manager oversees the tracking, planning, and maintenance of the company’s diverse fleet including trucks, cars, forklifts, and material handling equipment. They collaborate with Regional and Branch management to anticipate and meet their operational needs while ensuring optimal fleet utilization and compliance with regulatory standards. Positions that report to the Fleet Manager are Fleet Administrators and Fleet Support Assistants. The Fleet Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Logistics. Key Responsibilities: Supervise a team of para-professional staff, making day-to-day operational decisions. Provide input on personnel development and staffing decisions. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of fleet data; analyze fleet dynamics to support business needs. Partner with Regional and Branch leaders to forecast and plan for fleet requirements. Maintain high levels of customer service and responsiveness to branch needs. Assist with fleet acquisition, operations, preventive maintenance, and life-cycle management. Manage leasing, disposal, and return of vehicles and equipment. Develop and maintain vendor and service provider relationships to ensure cost-effective service. Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT, licensing, registration, and other relevant regulations. Support safety and operations teams in maintaining GPS and camera systems for all delivery vehicles. Qualifications: Experience supervising staff and managing vendor relationships. Effective communication and leadership skills. Strong understanding of fleet management systems and logistics operations. Knowledge of federal and local DOT regulations. Experience with vehicle acquisition, leasing, and maintenance practices. Ability to analyze data and make informed operational decisions. Physical Demands: This is a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, phone, copier, check scanner, etc. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional, office environment. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. It may require "off-hour" work, as needed. Travel: Minimal. Less than 10% annual travel expected.
