Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a CHAPLAIN - HOURLY to join our SPIRITUAL CARE DEPT team! The ideal candidate will also be able to provide flex coverage as needed to other ASPIRUS sites, including Tomahawk, Howard Young Medical Center, and Eagle River facilities.

The Chaplain provides pastoral care and counseling on an ecumenical basis to Aspirus patients, their family members and staff. Establishes working relationships with community clergy and supports their participation in developing and providing spiritual care for their faith community.

HOURS: Occasional 0.01 FTE, Hours and Shifts as Needed

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a graduate degree from an accredited theological school or college is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) unit of clinical pastoral education or willingness to obtain within the first year of hire required.
  • A minimum of four (4) successfully completed units of clinical pastoral education, preferred.
  • Clinical pastoral education accredited by ACPE preferred.
  • Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a graduate degree from an accredited theological school or college is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of parish or parish-related experience necessary to enhance and develop skills.
  • Four to six years of parish experience and prior pastoral experience in a general hospital beneficial.
  • Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, and certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) beneficial.
  • Possesses general knowledge of behavioral sciences and health care, with the ability to integrate that knowledge with religious faith and practice.
