Addison Group is hiring for our client, a well-established private college in downtown Chicago.

Job Description:

The Senior Prospect Researcher will support the Office of Development and Alumni Relations by conducting high-quality prospect research and assisting with grant-related research projects. This part-time temporary role requires flexibility in hours and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support student success and institutional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality standards for all research projects to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Support prospecting and database research projects
  • Assist with data analysis related to major gift activity
  • Provide research support for grant applications and program development initiatives
  • Advise development staff on prospects and current donors
  • Manage projects such as annual stewardship reports for endowed scholarship donors
  • Identify and pre-qualify prospects to maintain an adequate assigned prospect pool
  • Support strategic planning by providing data reports and analyses
  • Assist with post-event stewardship and follow-up efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of experience in prospect research, major gift research, or related field
  • Experience at multiple organizations preferred, ideally in higher education
  • Strong secondary research skills, including electronic data sources and wealth assessment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to assess research requests and deliver accurate results
  • Knowledge of general development processes preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, faculty, and trustees

Additional Details:

  • Part-time temporary role, up to 6 months
  • Flexible hours based on projects and deadlines, may range from 10–25 hours per week
  • Hybrid schedule preferred; occasional on-site visits may be required
