Credit Collector/Analyst

Huntsman is seeking a Credit Collector/Analyst supporting the Corporate Treasury & Credit Division located in Heredia, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Credit Manager US.

Job Scope

The Credit Collector/Analyst will be responsible for managing trade receivables and credit exposure for the AMS region, supporting over $70 million in credit exposure. The role will ensure timely collections, monitor credit risk, and support compliance efforts, while partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and maintain healthy customer relationships.

In summary, as the Credit Collector/Analyst, you will:

• Manage collection activities for an assigned portfolio to ensure compliance with payment terms and credit limits using ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Assist in meeting collection targets and support credit risk assessments with the credit analysis shared services team.
• Identify and resolve unapplied or unidentified payments.
• Monitor and release sales orders on credit hold.
• Collaborate with sales, pricing, and customer service teams to resolve disputes.
• Support internal controls, SOX compliance, and external/internal audit requirements.
• Prepare reports on collections forecast, order management, and month/quarter close status.
• Use external risk agencies (e.g., Credit Risk Monitor, S&P, Moody’s) as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Credit Manager.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Alternatively, 3+ years of relevant experience in similar roles may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Proficient in English (B2+ level) and Spanish.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and goal orientation.

Skills and Knowledge

• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and advocate for credit decisions.
• Adaptable to dynamic priorities and new instructions.
• Skilled in customer account reconciliation and dispute resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with credit analysis.
• Familiarity with external credit rating agencies (e.g., S&P, Moody’s).
• Experience working in a global shared services environment.

Working Environment

• This is a hybrid role based in Heredia, Costa Rica.
• Candidate must be able to commute to the office at least 3 times per week.
• Standard office environment with extended screen time.
