Chevron is looking for an administrative assistant to join the Global Indirect Tax team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated team member willing to take on new challenges and join one of the largest Oil and Gas tax teams in the United States.

Job Description

As a Tax Administrative Assistant, you will be a valuable member in supporting tax by performing tasks such as processing and assembling tax returns, managing documentation, maintaining databases, and coordinating administrative functions like scheduling and correspondence. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Tax Document Processing: Assemble, collate, scan, and file various tax returns, payments, and other relevant correspondence
  • Data Management: Maintain organized and accurate databases, spreadsheets, and team files
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and arrange conference calls to support the tax team
  • Administrative Support: Handle general office duties, including managing supplies, processing mail, and other administrative support tasks
  • Project Support: Assist with special projects and provide overflow support to other team members when needed
  • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality regarding company information

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior Experience: Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably within a tax or accounting team
  • Organization Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize documents, and track deadlines effectively
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry, document review, and processing to ensure compliance and prevent errors
  • Technical Proficiency: Skill in using accounting software and common office applications specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines, especially during high-demand periods like tax season
  • Discretion: A proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and care

Relocation Options:

Relocation is not offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
