What you'll be driving:
Engineering Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy that embraces cloud-native development in AWS, microservices architecture, and modern front-end frameworks like Angular and React.
- Champion the adoption of Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns to optimize performance, security, and developer experience across digital channels.
- Lead the evolution of our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring rapid, reliable, and secure delivery of software across environments.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead persistent, cross-functional teams that include Software Engineers, SDETs, Product Owners, and Designers—driving accountability and long-term ownership of platforms and products.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and psychological safety where experimentation and innovation thrive.
- Mentor and grow engineering managers and technical leads, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Technical Excellence & Architecture
- Guide teams in making sound architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.
- Promote shared engineering standards and best practices across the organization, including test automation, observability, and DevSecOps principles.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and platform teams to ensure alignment with broader technology strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Infrastructure teams to deliver seamless, customer-centric digital experiences.
- Act as a bridge between engineering and business stakeholders, translating strategic goals into technical execution plans.
- Influence and align with senior leadership on technology investments, priorities, and outcomes.
Developer Experience & Enablement
- Own the strategy for developer tooling, environments, and platform engineering to maximize productivity and reduce friction.
- Drive initiatives that improve build times, test coverage, and deployment reliability across the SDLC.
What you'll bring
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing large-scale digital platforms.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native development (AWS preferred), modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React), and scalable backend systems.
- Proven success in leading Software Development Engineering and Test (SDET) functions and implementing automated testing strategies.
- Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ADO, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies, persistent team models, and product-led development.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
