We are looking for Expert Software Engineer (Frontend) who will join our team and will take part in creation of a brand new IDE for ortodontists that will allow our doctors to develop and describe their own clinical protocols of Invisalign treatment plans. Technically it contains frontend part with a lot of WebGL and backend with application logic and computational modules. The interactions between parts are rich and very intensive. Responsive UI is our apparent goal on one hand and the challenge on the other. Computation algorithms are blended between frontend and backend parts. They cover clinical aspects of the orthodontic treatment and include a lot of Align’s know-hows. Their implementation is the other cornerstone for the project.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will…

• Research current architecture, review future changes and propose solutions to improve stability, performance and compatibility of our UI applications
• Partner with other UI Architects and developers to continue to drive the development of a modern user interface layer
• Collaborate with delivery teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to UI architectural standards and best practices
• Document standards and ensure they are effectively implemented by the development teams and understood by technology partners,
• Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for advanced features and designs
• Provide technical guidance to both local and remote development teams as required
• Continuously evaluate design and improve the software development and delivery processes with a deep focus on web performance optimization techniques and risks decrease
• Providing suggestions for improvement in Development or Testing practices to lead to increased performance of the application
• Provide technical oversight and perform code reviews for multiple development efforts
• Guide a team of developers to address the highest of the identified production concerns

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

In this role, you’ll need …

• 12+ years experience in the design, development and use of component based UI architectures. Additional consideration for experience working with high volume ECommerce websites
• Demonstrable knowledge of large scale, JavaScript application architectures
• Expert level understanding of the HTML DOM and underlying event model
• Advanced knowledge of unit testing best practices and Continuous Integration processes (CI/CD)
• Expert Development Skills in creating web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, Node.js
• Strong in software development process, test driven development
• Excellent understanding of approaches and techniques to optimize web performance
• Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with customers, executives, management and developers
• Responsible for creating highly scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of best practices
• The ability to connect technology with measurable business values, and also has demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges
• Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams to define and deliver on time projects
• Strong experience in web standards, accessibility
• Knowledge of configuration and tools for running custom tasks (Webpack/esbuild, NPM scripts, Rollup, etc), git and social coding platforms (Bitbucket, Github, Gitlab, etc) and package management (npm, yarn, etc)
• English on at least the upper-intermediate level
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or similar technical field
