Overview

The Manager: Quality Assurance plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of digital applications across the enterprise. Reporting to the Senior QA Manager, this role is hands-on in building and executing test plans, automating test cases, and validating releases across mobile apps, backend APIs, and cloud-based platforms. Working within Agile squads, the QA Manager collaborates closely with developers, product owners, DevOps engineers, and QA team members to ensure high test coverage, early defect detection, and adherence to test governance standards.

Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Design and execute test cases for mobile apps, web apps, APIs, and backend systems.
• Perform functional, regression, UI/UX, automation, and performance testing.
• Log, track, and verify defects to closure, collaborating with developers and DevOps teams.
• Contribute to test planning, review boards, and sprint-based test case refinement.
• Ensure test documentation is complete and aligns with traceability requirements.

Automation & CI/CD Integration

• Support implementation of test automation scripts.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Work with cloud-based testing environments, including hybrid or DR-ready setups.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
• Support QA lead in validating cutover activities and ensuring release alignment.
• Actively contribute to cross-functional QA activities to maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (mandatory).
• Additional training or coursework in software testing or automation is beneficial.
• Professional Certifications (preferred/required): ISTQB Foundation Level (required), Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or Agile Testing certifications (advantageous).

Experience

• 4–6 years’ experience in manual, performance, and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience testing mobile apps, web portals, and APIs.
• Proven experience validating Java-based backend APIs, business logic, data integrity, and integration points.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure) and hybrid/DR-ready setups.
• Familiarity with CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines and version control platforms (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Technical Skills

• Testing & Automation Frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Appium, JMeter, Katalon, Cypress.
• CI/CD & Test Integration: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube, Allure, GitHub Actions.
• Mobile & API Testing: Firebase Test Lab, App Center, Swagger/Postman.
• Test Data & Environment Management: Wire Mock or equivalent middleware for mocking endpoints.

Core Skills & Competencies

• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ownership of test outcomes.
• Ability to balance manual and automated testing while ensuring release quality and regression coverage.
• Skilled in collaboration across development, product, DevOps, and QA teams.
• Proactive mindset with focus on early defect detection, quality governance, and continuous improvement.
