The Neuro Step Down Unit is hiring a nurse Charge (RN) to join their dedicated team of high-performing nurses that provide exceptional patient care within their 29-bed unit. This unit is highly specialized neurology Step-Down, dedicated to the special care required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery, or neurological injuries – to include psych patients. Joint Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)

Qualifications

Other information:

Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire

Experience: Minimum One year of nursing experience required

Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.

  • Additional Requirements based upon area of service
  • CDS Inpatient
  • Progressive and Critical Care Units: ACLS
  • Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS
  • Pediatrics / PICU: PALS
  • Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP
  • Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge requires ACLS in addition to others
  • Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS
  • Oncology Chemotherapy certification

Academic Preparation:

  • Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO)
  • Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire

Specialty Certifications: Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred
