Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Tax Manager to join the Tax team at the Boston, MA location.

The Sr Tax Manager is a highly visible position within the tax team responsible for ensuring that Cabot optimizes its tax position and meets company objectives. This key position holds a broad range of responsibilities, including U.S. Federal and State tax compliance, tax accounting and global tax operations. Additionally, this role has 2 direct reports.

This role is based at the Boston, MA location, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to address new tax laws and changes in the global tax environment
  • Lead U.S. Federal and State tax provision process
  • Lead the U.S. tax compliance process, working closely with outside advisors
  • Leverage emerging and existing technology to innovate and streamline processes
  • Assist with non-U.S. GAAP reporting, including responsibility for non-U.S. tax provision package review and other tasks
  • Hold a significant role with U.S. international tax analysis including tax modeling
  • Partner with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on business and tax planning matters
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare technical documentation
  • Maintain a high standard of operational excellence in activities
  • Excel in coaching and developing direct reports and junior colleagues

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Bachelor’s in accounting required; advanced Tax degree preferred
  • CPA is required
  • 10+ years’ tax experience in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxation
  • Experience with a large accounting firm and/or publicly traded multinational company is preferred
  • International tax experience is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role is strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of global tax laws and regulations which affect the company
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Expertise with the various software tools utilized within the department
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to develop an understanding of global businesses and develop a network of contacts about changing business conditions and strategies
