Position Title: Openshift Architect

Open to all hubs (no particular order):

  • Pittsburgh, PA – Two PNC Plaza
  • Cleveland, OH – Strongsville Technology Center
  • Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Brock
  • North Texas Market, TX – Dallas Innovation Center (Luna Rd)
  • Phoenix, AZ – Biltmore

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote)

Acceptable Time Zone(s): Flexible – CT/EST

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

Core Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM (flexible)

Overtime: Minimal (must be available for weekend shift if needed)

Travel: None

Assignment Length: Through 1/30/2026

Reason for Open Position: Additional headcount/need

Potential for Extension: Yes

Function of the Group

  • Mitigate risk and reduce costs

Key Initiatives/Projects

  • OCP Engineers for UC8 Container Modernization to support team growth

Industry Background

  • Open to all backgrounds (banking/financial industry experience is a plus)

Team Structure

  • Team of ~10 engineers
  • 1 Product Owner
  • Support team for OCP (OpenShift Container Platform)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Hands-on engineering for OCP (OpenShift Container Platform)
  • Perform administrative, engineering, and architectural work
  • Cross-train and gain exposure to multiple areas
  • Communicate with customers, third-party vendors, and Red Hat associates
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems

Experience Level: Level 3 (4–6 years)

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Red Hat OpenShift or other Kubernetes platforms
  • Red Hat Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of networking and storage architectures for OpenShift/K8s
  • Experience with hosted applications or large-scale application deployments
  • Strong Linux tool knowledge

Nice-to-Have / Flex Skills

  • Cloud experience
  • Automation (ArgoCD, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)

Soft Skills

  • Clear and courteous communication
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Innovative and “out-of-the-box” thinker

Education / Certifications

  • Experience in lieu of education acceptable
  • No certifications required

Screening Questions

  • Describe your recent experience using OCP.

Role Differentiator

  • High-visibility role within a rapidly growing and critical team
  • Involvement in PNC’s Orange Rocket project (key technology initiative)

Interview Process

  1. Round 1: Panel interview (2–3 people, including HM) – 30 min, behavioral focus
  2. Round 2: Panel interview (2–3 senior engineers + 1 HR) – technical focus
