Overview
The County Administrative Assistant is a member of the staff of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE). The County Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide support to the County Extension Director and other staff as assigned. The County Administrative Assistant cooperates with colleagues in the NCCE and county leaders in performing assigned responsibilities. The performance of assigned responsibilities is governed by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the NCCE
THIS IS A TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION
The County Administrative Assistant position provides office support and leadership, under supervision, to the Extension staff and does related work as required to support educational programs in a variety of areas including data entry, procurement and management of office supplies and programming materials and building schedule for room reservations, as well as equipment rentals for local farms.
Responsibilities include providing administrative support for the County Extension Director and other staff/program areas including Agriculture, Horticulture, 4-H, Farmers Market and Family and Consumer Science. Position interacts with other county departments (Human Resources, Finance, Budget, Facility Services, etc.) to ensure effective relationships with county government.
The County Administrative Assistant will work with the County Extension Director to effectively assist in managing the NCSU Extension budget and maintain monthly expense records.

Graduation from high school and two years of related experience; or graduation from a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and one year related experience
