Responsible for obtaining diagnostic quality sonographic images according to pre-established guidelines. Schedules and observes time-management techniques according to departmental productivity and efficiency standards while observing a quality patient care experience.
Graduate of a sonographer program.
One (1) year of clinical Sonogram Technology experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) (or within 12 months of hire into the department). BLS Certification is required (or within 30 days of hire into the department).
Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne/airborne disease; contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances; exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, chemicals and illness); subject to varying and unpredictable situations; able to handle emergency, crisis or pressured situations; subject to multiple interruptions; occasionally subject to extended or irregular hours; requires judgment/actions that impact patient outcomes.
