Meeting Street Schools is a groundbreaking network of four South Carolina schools with a mission of “empowering children with the excellent, life-changing education they deserve.” We were founded in 2008 to give hard-working students the opportunity to receive an education that will transform their lives. The Role

Teachers at Meeting Street Schools combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. With a co-teaching model across the board, experienced educators are paired with a co-teacher or a Teaching Fellow as we aim to give students the excellent, life-changing education they deserve. Teachers at Meeting Street Schools have a growth mindset and are afforded multiple professional development opportunities throughout the year, including collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focus professional development, team analysis of performance data, and other personalized opportunities for teachers to grow.

Teaching Fellows Program:

For those who learn best by observing, doing, receiving feedback, and guidance, the Teaching Fellowship program is perfect for you. In addition to working alongside a co-teacher and learning on the job in real-time, Fellows receive targeted and unique development as they learn the requisite skills to graduate into a lead teacher role. Graduates with bachelor's degrees in any major are welcome and encouraged to apply.

• Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that excites and invests in students as they reach their full potential
• Build a strong classroom community and relationships with families
• Support students through direct, small-group, and differentiated instruction
• Creates innovative and Common Core-aligned lesson plans
• Assesses student learning consistently and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs
• Commits to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration
• Models MSS’ Path to Success skills and supports the development of those skills in students and peers
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Educational Background & Work Experience:

Experienced Educator:

• Active or in-process teaching certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree required
• 4+ years of experience leading a classroom

Teaching Fellow:

• Bachelor’s degree (Degree must be conferred by July 1, 2025, for beginning-of-year start dates)

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary for Kindergarten through 5th-grade educators at our Spartanburg-area campus starts at $57,500 (Teaching Fellows) and is commensurate with experience. Additionally, Meeting Street Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
