Overview

The Regional Strategy Director for Asia/SEA is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving strategic

excellence across Asia/SEA on the OneMars team. Acting as a connector between global strategic intent

and local execution, this individual will partner closely with Segment Leads and Planning Teams to shape

future-facing brand strategies, build scalable frameworks, and drive multi-market cohesion.

This role is integral to elevating the strategic backbone of OneMars Asia/SEA, governing performance

benchmarking, codifying best practices, and ensuring consistent alignment with Mars&rsquo global vision&mdash

while enabling creative and media integration at the campaign and annual planning level.

Responsibilities

Regional Strategic Blueprinting

  • Partner with AMEA Segment Leads to co-develop regional strategic blueprints, including
  • frameworks for:
    • Connected Identity (e.g., Growth Cohorts)
    • Category Entry Points
    • Brand Experience Architecture
    • Integrated Intelligence-led Content Strategies
  • Align with global strategy to localize and implement brand frameworks across regional markets
  • while honoring local nuances.

Multi-Market Planning & Growth Identification

  • Lead regional multi-market planning efforts across Asia/SEA.
  • Identify white space and growth opportunities, leveraging data and insights to inform prioritization.
  • Harmonize regional campaign execution when scale efficiencies apply.

Strategic Governance & Best Practices

  • Govern the strategic backbone through codified processes, benchmark tracking, and knowledge sharing using Marcel and other internal systems.
  • Ensure fidelity to global standards while providing room for regional innovation.

Creative & Media Integration

  • Serve as a strategic bridge between media and creative teams, ensuring alignment between media strategies and creative development.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic inputs for creative briefs and campaign planning.
  • Co-lead or support annual brand planning and campaign briefings with local teams and creative/media partners.

Cross-Functional & Cross-Market Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Planning Teams, Segment Leads, and Orchestration Lead to embed strategy into operational workflows.
  • Actively support cross-agency collaboration, ensuring integrated delivery across PESO channels and capability teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Global Alignment

  • Partner with global strategy and business leads to maintain strategic consistency and vertical alignment across the Mars ecosystem.
  • Facilitate knowledge flow between global, regional, and local stakeholders, creating an
  • environment of co-creation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, integrated communications, or regional planning roles, with 5+ years in senior APAC/SEA strategic leadership.
  • Strong capability in both upstream strategic thinking and downstream operational execution.
  • Proven experience leading multi-market brand and communication strategies, preferably in the FMCG or consumer brand category.
  • Familiarity with Connected ID, audience frameworks, brand architecture, and digital media strategy.
  • Strong experience in integrated agency environments (creative + media) and managing PESObased strategic campaigns.
  • Adept at navigating matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Highly collaborative, with a proactive, solutions-first mindset and the ability to synthesize complexity into compelling strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience presenting strategies to C-suite clients and global stakeholders.
  • Deep cultural fluency and agility in working across diverse markets and organizational structures.
