Thomas Jefferson University Health System (TJUH) and Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia are seeking a full-time Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to join the Division of Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services, participate in teaching, and engage in research within a collaborative academic environment.

Thomas Jefferson University Health System (TJUH) and the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia are seeking a Full-time Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank to join the Division of Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will provide clinical care across Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Level I Trauma Center), Abington Hospital (Level II Trauma Center), Paoli Hospital (Level II Trauma Center), and Lankenau Medical Center’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Job Description:

  • Provide clinical services in trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care across multiple Jefferson Health hospitals.
  • Participate in patient care in the emergency department, operating room, hospital floors, ICUs, outpatient clinics, and consult services.
  • Collaborate with surgical and medical specialists to deliver high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Actively engage in teaching surgical residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Contribute to the department’s research and academic mission through scholarship, publications, and program development.
  • Work with leadership to monitor and improve clinical, operational, and financial performance metrics.
  • Participate in the ongoing growth and development of Jefferson’s trauma and critical care services.
  • Support long-term strategic planning initiatives for the Division of Acute Care Surgery

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in General Surgery.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care Surgery.
  • Strong commitment to patient care, education, and academic advancement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
