Job Overview:

Linde is currently seeking Production Technician in Burns Harbor, IN. Under the direction of the Production Superintendent, the Production Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and operation of 3 air separation columns and one neon refinery that produce oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and neon.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitors equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as set-ups and calibrations.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and plant upsets.
• Measures and records various data associated with operating equipment. Utilizes standard repair procedures when necessary.
• Starts and stops compressors, pumps and other equipment as necessary to meet product demand.
• Create and execute Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Working around rotating and/or process equipment.
• Working with cryogenic liquid and gases.
• Operate plants from a computer using IFIX operating system.
• Assisting drivers in an automated fill zone to safely fill their trucks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial operations experience.
• Safe driving record.
• The candidate will possess basic computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Job requires working outdoors year-round, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., turning large valves, and using man-lifts and forklifts within the plant site.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required and be on call. Some local and overnight travel maybe required.
• This is a 12-hour rotating shift that requires working days and nights.
• The candidate should have experience working with gauges, pressure switches, analyzers, manual and automatic control valves.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Process Technology.
