General Laborer
Location: Newington, CT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am to 4 or 5 pm, could go longer depending on the project
Compensation: $19/hr
Duties:
- Assisting crew in digging trenches to place conduit for fiber optic cables.
- Placing conduit in trench, backfilling with dirt and using machines to tamp and compact.
- Raking out rocks, shoveling them into dump trailer or truck.
- Placing topsoil and raking out to finish restoration.
- Digging holes to set handholes (plastic boxes) at the ends of the conduits
- Placing pull ropes in the conduits
- Pulling the fiber in the conduits.
- Operating a jack hammer to break away asphalt or concrete where we need to cross driveways or roads.
- Removing same in conjunction with the excavation equipment and loading into dump trailer or truck.
- Assisting crew foreman with replacing asphalt or concrete.
- General lifting, digging, raking, sweeping to clean up work areas.
