ICI Alberta is looking for an Associate Producer, Chase, who will play a key role in creating and promoting our radio content. The position is based in Edmonton and will be assigned primarily to the La croisée drive-home show serving Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
Reporting to the Executive Producer, Radio, and your show’s producer, you will act as a researcher/reporter assigned primarily to preparing a radio program. This will involve the following tasks: researching story ideas and preparing research packs (intros, angles, questions and follow-ups); chasing and booking guests; and writing and presenting stories on air.
You may be asked to write copy to showcase and promote program content across all our digital platforms as well as to pitch story ideas that you can develop, present on-air and also deliver on our other platforms.
You will be required to maintain relationships with all Franco-Albertan communities and contribute to station initiatives. Work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices and programming policies, but there is latitude for initiative, creativity and independent judgment.
We are looking for a creative self-starter with sound news judgment and experience researching and preparing content for audiences across multiple platforms. You must have an understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices as well as a grasp of emerging trends in radio programming and formats.
