Longview Rehabilitation Hospital is a 36-bed inpatient rehab facility located at 701 E Loop 281 in Longview, Texas. It specializes in helping patients recover from serious illnesses or injuries that have impacted their ability to function independently.

How you’ll contribute

The Educator and Infection Preventionist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support professional development and regulatory compliance. This role also oversees infection prevention strategies, surveillance, and policy development to ensure a safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs
  • Ensure educational content meets accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with leadership and departments to identify learning needs and schedule required training
  • Lead hospital-wide infection prevention initiatives and education
  • Monitor and report infection trends and outbreaks; implement improvement plans as needed
  • Stay current on infection control guidelines and ensure compliance across departments
  • Serve as a resource on infection control and prevention best practices
  • Develop the annual hospital-wide Infection control Plan, evaluate the effectiveness of the program, and report findings to leadership and appropriate committees
  • Participate in safety committees and prepare reports for leadership and accreditation bodies
  • Support quality improvement and risk management initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's in Nursing required; Master's strongly preferred
  • License: Active RN license in the state of Texas required
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in staff education and infection prevention strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, evaluating and/or directing educational activities of clinical personnel
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred.; Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or obtained within 1 year
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
