The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the Project Management Team to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Presents schedule and budget status reports to Project Management Team and client.
  • Validate proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
  • Validate the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs, contingency costs and support external audits.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Analyze cash flow reports.
  • Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM) and development of project schedules.
  • Lead the presentation of Project Controls reporting.
  • Validate schedule progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios.
  • Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement.
  • Prepare and analyze progress curves.
  • Perform and review material takeoffs.
  • Identify and oversee the Risk Management process.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • Perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, and 7 years direct project controls experience required.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification Ability to obtain.
