Mixer/Operator

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm - $18/hr

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11pm - $19/hr

Job Summary

  • Responsible for cutting and dumping raw materials into blending equipment per customer specifications.
  • Packages and palletizes finished products for warehouse transfer.
  • Keeps the work area organized and clean.
  • Must complete our valued client’s comprehensive training program to be proficient.

Key Accountabilities

  • Safe equipment operation.
  • Batch set-up.
  • Accurate micro ingredient scaling.
  • Meeting production standards.
  • Accurate production documentation.
  • Ensuring production specifications are met with no holds.

Essential Functions

  • Mixes raw materials to create finished product:
    • Follows customer and company specifications and mixing instructions.
    • Performs quality control checks on materials and equipment.
    • Executes cut and dump procedures for batch production.
    • Completes required production paperwork accurately.
  • Packages finished products:
    • Verifies labels match paperwork.
    • Labels packaging materials correctly.
    • Accurately fills packaging with finished product.
    • Seals bags and palletizes for warehouse transfer.
  • Maintains sanitation in work area:
    • Disposes of used packaging materials properly.
    • Sweeps and dusts to keep areas clear of spills.
    • Maintains an orderly, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Assists in training new personnel.
  • Ensures daily adherence to food safety objectives and the SQF Code.
  • Acts as an alternate for all Blender positions as required.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by supervisors for project completion or modification.

  • Adherence to Quality Control holds

Qualifications

  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills for inventory control.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no direct reports.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment

  • Must be able to stand for long periods; walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, stoop, and occasionally sit.
  • Regularly required to use hands, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally smell.
  • Must lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally climb ladders to access equipment.
  • Visual requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.
  • Work is in a climate-controlled production/warehouse environment.
  • Frequent exposure to grain dust.
  • Noise levels range from moderate to high; hearing protection required in some areas.
