Job Purpose

As a Jr UI/UX Designer at Welldoc, you will be involved in the design and development of mobile and web products as part of the growing UI/UX team. At Welldoc, we’re passionate about helping people living with chronic diseases. We have a unique opportunity that allows us to see the direct impact our work makes in the lives of our users. Additionally, we are driven to surpass customer expectations and stay ahead of the curve with evolving technology by rapidly learning and adapting to consumer demand. In this position, you will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Scrum Teams, Developers, Writers and Consultants. You will help create and deliver the most usable, viable and feasible solutions in line with the business goals. You will be involved in the creation of a robust design system that will be applied across our entire portfolio of products.

Responsibilities

  • Produce creative and original designs with consistent design patterns to apply across multiple products, contributing to the overall design system
  • Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Prioritize and manage multiple design projects while meeting critical project milestones and deadlines
  • Review the deliverables produced by the development teams and provide feedback as appropriate on the quality and usability of the UX implementation
  • Provide detailed, comprehensive design specifications and user flows to the Engineering Team for implementation

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of native mobile and web design experience
  • Self-starter with a high level of intellectual curiosity that executes independently and takes incredible pride in their work, willingness, and ability to learn new concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Figma / Sketch
  • A basic and growing understanding of UI and interaction design principles, use of typography, color and page layouts, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work with remote teams and virtual stakeholders, while maintaining clear communications and meeting work expectations
  • Ability to justify design decisions through solid reasoning based on UX principles, user research, and product knowledge to product managers and development teams.
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and accessibility guidelines
  • Portfolio of solid, demonstrable UX process and work samples showcasing end-to-end UX skills
  • Appreciation of current and emerging UX trends along with their potential benefits and limitations
  • Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards whilst being pragmatic and delivering at pace against ambitious deadlines
  • At ease working in a UX and Product Team environment, and is open to giving and receiving constructive criticism
  • Ability to balance priorities and communicate issues or the need for support.

Welldoc operates in ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulated and HITRUST and SOC 2 Type II compliant environments. Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either, prior experience working in those environments or, will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.

Required Education

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Information Systems Design) or equivalent experience

Compensation & Benefits

Welldoc offers a competitive compensation package which, in addition to salary, includes generous PTO, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits. and the opportunity to participate in health savings accounts and/or dependent care accounts. The anticipated salary range for this position is between $60,000-$80,000/year with the expectation that most candidates will fall around the midpoint of the range. Exceptional candidates may exceed the range if education and experience warrant.

Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, you may be required to complete and clear a multi-panel drug screening process. This screening is in connection with requirements set by certain of the Company’s customers, with which you may be working in this role, and will at all times be administered all applicable laws.
