Description

Our customer is a manufacturing company who has numerous warehouses around the globe. The goal of the project is to provide customer with extensive analytical tools. It requires us to build custom APIs that will integrate with customer’s SAP, query data from there, apply specific transformations, and build reports in PowerBI based on that processsed data to help customer to:

• Understand current production needs
• Be able to collect as much data as needed to understand new production requests
• Compare production needs with materials availability
• Identify existing bottle-necks from processes perspective
• Help to build forecasts

Requirements

Experience: 5+ years of proven, hands-on data engineering experience.

• ETL Expertise:
• Expert-level proficiency in designing and developing complex ETL solutions using SQL

Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Database Expertise:
• Deep expertise in SQL Server, including advanced database design, performance tuning,

and writing complex T-SQL (stored procedures, functions, CTEs).

• Programming & Scripting:
• Python: Advanced Python skills for backend development, data manipulation, and

automation. Hands-on experience with Pandas is required. Experience with web

frameworks like Flask or FastAPI for creating APIs is a major plus.

• Shell Scripting (Linux/Unix): Proficiency in Bash/sh for automation within a containerized

environment.

• Containerization:
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerizing applications and a strong

understanding of deploying to and managing services on Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Version Control:

• Proficiency with Git for managing all code artifacts (SQL scripts, Python code, SSIS projects,

configuration files).

Data Modeling:

• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (star schema), data warehousing concepts,

and data integration techniques.

Communication:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and designs

to a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Plus: Experience in the energy, utility, or power systems sector.

Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable SSIS packages for data ingestion from
• relational sources and the orchestration of the entire data validation workflow.
• Develop and optimize high-performance Python applications to parse complex,
• semi-structured engineering files (e.g., .prj, .idev) and load the resulting data into SQL
• Server.
• Implement and manage the physical database design in SQL Server, creating and
• maintaining the stage, gold, and archive schemas and tables.
• Work closely with power system Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand complex
• data formats and translate their validation requirements into efficient code.
• Collaborate with the Test Data Engineering team to implement and automate data quality
• checks using SQL stored procedures and Python scripts.
• Containerize Python applications using Docker for deployment and management on the
• on-premise OpenShift/Kubernetes platform.
• Ensure the end-to-end data pipeline is reliable, auditable, and performant.
