Trauma Registrar/Coder Position Summary
The Trauma Registrar/Coder ensures that complete and accurate data is collected and maintained for trauma services and all trauma patients that meet the inclusion criteria set by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) for Trauma Center Designation/Re-designation. The registrar/coder will evaluate the collected data to identify quality of care trends and determine appropriate coding for injuries, complications and procedures. This position is also responsible for meeting all customer requests for trauma related data to aid in reimbursement, QA/QI, education, research and prevention.
