About the Role

Fidelity investments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Digital Privacy & Preferences. Your work will directly impact how millions of users interact with our products across web and mobile platforms. This role spans the entire organization, helping us deliver seamless, compliant, and user-centric experiences while staying aligned with evolving privacy regulations.

Role Overview

In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of technology, privacy, and user experience. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including architecture, legal, marketing, and product—to implement and evolve our consent and preference management systems. Your contributions will help ensure that our platforms remain compliant with global privacy standards like GDPR and CCPA, while also empowering users with clear, intuitive controls over their data. You’ll work across both web and mobile environments, integrating with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs), tag management systems, and privacy-related SDKs.

As privacy regulations, technologies, and business needs continue to evolve, so will your opportunities. This role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll constantly be exposed to new challenges and emerging technologies. Whether it’s adapting to new legal frameworks, optimizing data collection strategies, or enhancing user preference interfaces, you’ll be continuously learning and growing—making this an ideal position for engineers who thrive on innovation and impact.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on web and mobile application development.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS/CIS or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) such as OneTrust, TrustArc, Securiti, Ketch (or other vendors), including integration and customization.
  • Deep understanding of marketing tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, Ensighten, Telium) and their role in online data collection and user tracking.
  • Working knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and how they impact technical implementations in digital products.
  • Experience with client-side and server-side tracking technologies, including cookies, pixels, and SDKs.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
  • Experience with mobile development (iOS and Android e.g., Kotlin and Swift), including privacy-related SDK integration and user preference handling.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and RESTful API design for privacy preference management.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to architectural discussions, with the ability to articulate a strong point of view and collaborate closely with dedicated architecture teams to shape technical direction through two-way dialogue.
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills in Web, API and Mobile environments leveraging tools such as Charles Proxy, Chrome Developer Tool, Postman/Insomnia etc.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with legal, marketing, and product teams to align on privacy requirements and user experience.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices, including the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
