Position Description:

Crafts and maintains testing frameworks, such as JUnit, Cucumber, and FitNesse. Creates robust, scalable applications using Java. Creates seamless flows of accurate and efficient data to support applications and strategic business decisions using SQL. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical guidance for the planning, designing, and executing testing across critical business services and systems.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
  • Works in an Agile environment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software engineering testing in an IT financial services environment, using Java and SQL.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software engineering testing in an IT financial services environment, using Java and SQL.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing testing applications to validate User Interface (UI) platforms that support consumer business processes, using J2EE technologies -- Spring framework, Maven, SQL Developer, GIT, Rest Assured Junit, and Selenium -- according to Agile software development methodologies.
  • DE developing robust automation frameworks for testing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), using Java, Postman, Rest Assured, Serenity, and SQL; writing UI automated tests using Selenium; creating hybrid automation frameworks using Cucumber and Behavior Driven Development (BDD); monitoring API interactions and testing message production and consumption across Pulsar topics for microservices; and designing GraphQL integration tests to validate data interactions between microservices and integrating automated test cases with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline, using Jenkins.
  • DE performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression, mobile, and database testing and documenting, in JIRA/XRAY.
  • DE providing technical support for code deployment and test environment management in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) managed Cloud service environment, using Lambda, Cloud Watch, S3, or DynamoDB.
