The Senior Staff ERP Developer is an Expert individual contributor with responsibility in their discipline or specialty. Recognized subject matter expert in job area. The majority of time is spent developing and implementing new or improved products, processes, standards, or operations plans that will have impact on the achievement of results.

As a Senior Staff ERP Developer, you’ll influence others in technical decision-making and technology adoption within their domain. You’ll develop technical roadmaps and lead Systems Developers across one or more squads to deliver initiatives. Works independently with little oversight. May coach, direct the work, or review the work of others.

What is your background?

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in COTS / SaaS development and system integration
  • Experience successfully influencing vendors in systems requirements planning
  • Experience with a consistent track record of successful, high-quality results

What is the work?

− Consults on solution development with Digital Leadership Team for out-of-guideline and / or strategic business and technology issues with far-reaching impact

− Translates complex business and technology needs into objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and longterm goals

− Serves as a strategic advisor to Digital Leadership Team on the development and implementation of new initiatives

− Creates collaborative networks across the broader organization

Development & Support

− Applies expert understanding of all affected systems / applications to support implementation, end-to-end system integration, stabilization, and production support transition.

− Leads reviews of functional design / requirements to identify technical risks and obstacles; coaches individuals on their growth in this area.

− Influences / participates in technical reviews where needed without prompting or request; Where necessary, provides support or guidance.

− Factors in team's capabilities and ability to deliver in preparing accurate duration / effort estimates; Works to remove roadblocks to ensure technical teams stay on track, on schedule, and on budget.

− Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and challenges team towards optimal use of resources

− Broad visibility to organizational strategy; Leads collaborative discussions with Foundational Technology, Engineers, and vendors to implement technical solutions and resolve issues.

− Influences test planning, case development, and SIT / UAT support.

− Provides leadership during high-urgency incidents and ensures thorough follow-up and documentation; Seeks to address recurring issues; Influences other teams' efforts to permanently address root causes of recurring issues.

− Leads team efforts in the proactive design / implementation of automated system monitoring and alerting solutions; identifies engineering tools that facilitate systems management; Influences and collaborates across teams to standardize SRE best practices and solutions.

− Leads system design discussions involving and educates others on cross-domain (upstream / downstream) functional / technical dependencies (business processes, supporting technology, and contacts).

Working Knowledge & Experience

− Demonstrates expert knowledge of the full architectural stack, with expertise in one or more areas of the stack and aware of operational teams and vendors roadmaps and anticipate, influence roadmaps to guide operational team.

− Demonstrates expert knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database operations / efficiency / tuning and SQL.

− Expert knowledge of proprietary languages / frameworks (examples: X++, Ladder Logic, MA ProActive).

− Demonstrates expert knowledge of multiple languages, technologies, frameworks and general software development concepts / trends / best practices; Continuously develops self and others.

− Design, architect and oversee, the development / implementation of domain-specific applications to fill gaps between large COTS systems; design system funnels to route analytical data for reporting.

− Contributes to and oversees the development of technical documentation and training for system enhancements; reviews with critical eye to ensure established expectations and standards are met across teams.

− Raises awareness to and leads efforts to minimize technical debt (risk management, agility, etc.).

− Strategically assesses existing processes and tools; Leads the implementation of changes to stay ahead of industry standards, patterns, and practices.

− Leads efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs of hardware / software maintenance across the organization.

− Ability to affectively engage, collaborate, and communicate, tailoring the message based on your audience across varying levels; Able to influence across organizational boundaries.
