High Performance Compute Business Unit Manager

Director or Senior Director Role

The Business Unit Manager role will be responsible for managing the growth, roadmap, and profitability of the High Performance Compute (HPC) Business Unit within the Compute Test Division (CTD) in the Semitest Group. The HPC BU is the fastest growing market with a target rich environment to grow revenue and share.

The role will manage a team of Marketing Leaders and Product Managers who are responsible for the different technologies (Digital, Power, Platform, Software) and different customer personas (Hyperscalers and Chipmakers along with different markets: Datacenter, Client PC, AI) within the Business Unit

The role involves collaborating and working with multiple teams (executives, engineering, sales, and operations), understanding multiple markets/technological disruptions (Datacenter, Consumer Products, Networking Infrastructure, and latest AI Training/Inference trends), and working with customers who are small to large semiconductor & vertically integrated companies.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Define and execute the 4-year strategy and business plan for the HPC BU.
• Drive (as key stakeholder) multi-generation product roadmap and manage entire product life cycle of products that are aligned to the Business Unit
• Own forecast of products to drive inventory decisions and cost-down initiatives
• Grow market share by prioritizing, targeting, and supporting strategic design-in activities, including competitive differentiation and resource trade-offs
• Determine pricing strategy for the general market and key customers
• Develop competitive differentiation through sales & marketing collateral
• Identify emerging customers in US, Europe, Asia and develop strategic customer relationships in cooperation with sales
• Synthesize market and business results for Quarterly Business Reviews, investor relations, and the executive management team
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of segment leaders, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Align BU strategy with CTD and SemiTest Group priorities, ensuring cohesive execution across platform, software, and test cell initiatives.
• Success will be measured by BU revenue growth, share growth, design-in conversion rates, roadmap fit, product launch execution, and other KPIs.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required

• 15+ years of marketing and/or sales experience in semiconductor industry
• BS, preferably in electrical engineering.
• MBA preferred, or equivalent managerial experience
• This position requires a person with very strong leadership, analytical, synthesis, and integration skills. This role will require an extensive amount of integration and visibility across all functions of the business and at all levels.
• North Reading or San Jose office locations
• Travel of >20% to be expected

Compensation

• The base salary range for this role is $206,000 - $329,600,00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
• Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
