  1. Associate's degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program preferred.

Work Experience :

  1. Sufficient previous experience in a radiology department and in radiologic and CT procedures preferred, along with thorough knowledge of radiologic and CT terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy.

Skills Abilities :

  1. Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age, limitations and planned procedures.

License & Cert :

  1. Maintains current Registry and State License. Maintains current Registry and State License, and must attain CT certification by the ARRT within 18 months of hire.
    1. Job Function :
      1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, etc. Performs all CT Scan procedures, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Transports patients to CT Scan room; prepares and maintains room for daily activities. Selects and operates equipment as directed. Assists physician in administering medicines as required. Assists physician in CT interventional procedures, maintains sterile technique. Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. Performs venipuncture. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, Inservice meetings and workshops. Performs POC Creatinine testing, including blood draw, QC, machine maintenance and competencies. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
      2. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Transferring, repositioning patients. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeing, and crouching for patient care functions. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Optimal auditory acuity required. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty maybe irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn. Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Position involves frequent lifting and moving of patients and long periods of standing while wearing protective radiation attire including lead apron.
