MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Telecom Technician to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems, ensuring reliable communication
• Possess an understanding of voice, data, and video networks, working independently and in teams
• Tasks include installing and configuring network devices, cabling, and telecom equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot network issues, and replace faulty components
• Use network monitoring tools, analyze performance data, and maintain records of activities
• Create network diagrams and documentation and prepare reports on network performance and troubleshooting efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS diploma and 3+ years of relevant Telecom Technician experience.
• A candidate holding a relevant bachelor's degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with various telecommunications technologies, including VoIP, VPN, and wireless networking.
• Proven experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining telecom equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP phones, video conferencing systems).
• Hands-on experience with cabling installation and termination (copper and fiber optic).
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, outages, and performance problems.
• Solid understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model, network topologies)..
• Experience in creating and updating network diagrams and documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with specific telecom technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, MPLS, wireless networks).
• Basic scripting or programming skills for automating telecom tasks.
• Experience with basic project management principles and methodologies.
• CompTIA Network+ or A+. BICSI certifications (e.g., RCDD, ITS Technician). Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco, Avaya).
• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
