The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in PHP (Laravel) and experience in front-end technologies such as VueJS, Typescript, and Nuxt, you will be part of an innovative team developing and expanding upon a high traffic product for the parking industry.

How to make an impact

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to gather requirements and design, develop, and implement features in PHP (Laravel) and VueJS (Nuxt).
• Write unit and integration tests using TDD best practices to ensure the reliability and stability of the code.
• Optimise and maintain databases, including MySQL, for efficient performance.
• Use Docker to deploy and manage application services in a scalable and containerized environment.
• Utilise AWS services for building and deploying application services in a cloud-based environment.
• Participate in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines, to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate with other team members to ensure effective code management.
• Collaborate with other backend engineers to identify, manage and prioritise tech-debt.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively suggest improvements to our technology stack.

Your background

• Strong experience in PHP (8.4) and Laravel (12) development, with a deep understanding of respective concepts and best practices.
• Experience with VueJS, Nuxt, and Typescript.
• Familiarity with developing performant and fault-tolerant APIs.
• Proficiency in designing and maintaining MySQL databases.
• Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment of application services.
• Knowledge and experience with the core AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, SQS).
• Proficient in using Git for version control.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.

This role is fully remote, we require you to be based in the United Kingdom
